Can bad project management drive employees away?

We've all had bad bosses. A few of us have even quit jobs because of them.

Earlier this year, a young company was looking like a remarkably successful startup. It raised $25 million before it even launched, and later received what it called the largest round of seed money ever raised in Silicon Valley, according to Business Insider.

Not bad for a payment app.

Unfortunately, recent reports suggest that there is some trouble in paradise. The news source reported that former employees are writing disgruntled posts on the web, in which they have heavily criticized the leadership of the company's 22-year-old founder. Two anonymous employees wrote that they both quit because of the founder's inability to lead the company.

"The man really has no right to be in the position he is in," they wrote. "He hurts his employees daily and shoves it under the rug [sic] as collateral damage." 

They then accused the young founder of "superficially throwing money" at the problems facing the company, rather than relying on the startup's talent.

Though they credited the founder with being "brilliant," they charged that he was never able to adequately convey that he cared about any of the employees at the company.

Of course, as Business Insider notes, these accusations have been made anonymously, and there has been no response from the founder. There is another side of the story yet to be told. Nevertheless, a project manager should be concerned if even a handful of employees feel this way about team leadership.
